Hello! We're Little Loaf Bakeshop, a Hudson Valley-based vegan bakery that focuses on creating daily moments of joy through creative, high-quality pastries, desserts, breakfast and lunch items, and more. We are proud to be an LGBTQ+ and women-owned business.
What We're Looking For:
We are looking to add another Line and Prep cook team member to our kitchen. Seeking someone who has both food prep and line cook experience. You will be trained by our kitchen manager on how we prepare and cook the food on our menu. We'll also make sure you're up to speed on all things Little Loaf pastries.
Responsibilities Opening:
Stock and set up kitchen line, sanitize space and prepare ingredients needed for the day/week. Cook food according to recipes, plating and garnishing to meet cafe standards. Work on line, ensuring food is delivered to customer at an expected rate and quality. Maintaining a clean work environment and consolidation of food items to ensure freshness and quality. Adhere to food health and safety regulations, including proper storage and handling.
Schedule and Pay:
We are open 8am-4pm every day, with the first shift coming in at 7am and the last shift leaving by 5pm. We pool tips with the entire team, front and back of house. Base wage is $17+, depending on experience, but tips can add $4-$5+ to your base wage, depending on how busy we are. What You Bring to the Table You'll be working with one other person and at times by yourself, so you need to be organized, know how to manage your time, and know how to think on your feet. Top skills you'll need (both for the job and to be a team member): At least 2 years of experience preferred, but not mandatory Time management: You get how to prioritize a prep list while orders are also coming in.
Attention to detail:
You know the importance of making consistently beautiful products, and know how to balance speed with precision Solid communication skills: we use WhatsApp so we don't blow up peoples' texts…but using it for work is a requirement Positive attitude: early mornings are tough or busy service can be tough- but they can also be really fun Creative ideas: We love trying new ways of doing things, and for this role, always thinking about how to improve our process or organization is a huge plus
Openmindedness:
Stay open to suggestions, challenge yourself to try something new, and don't assume the worst Flexibility and understanding: Things don't always go as planned! How We Work / Our Values Help Each Other We actively look for ways to support our team, customers, and community while knowing when to ask for help ourselves. This fosters trust and makes work more enjoyable for everyone. Create Joy Pastries are inherently joyful, and we're lucky to work in a business that brings people happiness. Each market or event is an opportunity to brighten someone's day—whether through our products, a kind word, or a shared laugh. Try Something New We embrace curiosity and believe in Honesty, Openness, and Willingness (H.O.W.) to grow and evolve: Being honest about mistakes or areas for improvement. Being open to feedback and new ideas.
