We are currently seeking a strong line cook who is excited to work with the best ingredients in a busy, successful restaurant. Line Cook Key Responsibilities and Duties We are seeking a disciplined and detail-oriented Line Cook to join our culinary team. You will be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes according to our recipes and specifications. The ideal candidate is a team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment, maintains a clean workstation, and is passionate about delivering a consistent dining experience for every guest.
Key Responsibilities Station Excellence:
Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies and ingredients before service begins.
Execution:
Prepare and cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff, ensuring timed delivery of complete orders.
Quality Control:
Maintain high standards for food taste, temperature, and visual presentation.
Food Safety:
Follow all food safety and sanitation regulations and maintain a "clean as you go" philosophy.
Inventory Management:
Monitor stock levels and notify the Chef of any shortages; ensure proper rotation of ingredients using the FIFO method.
Teamwork:
Communicate effectively with the Runners and Front of House to ensure smooth service and handle special dietary or allergy requests.
Skills & Qualifications Experience:
1-3 years of experience in a professional kitchen (preferred).
Technical Skill:
Proficiency with professional knives and various cooking techniques (searing, poaching, blanching).
Physical Stamina:
Ability to stand for long periods (8+ hours) and lift up to 50 lbs.
Pace:
Ability to work efficiently under pressure and multitask during peak hours.
Certifications:
Valid Food Handler's Permit or ServSafe certification (or willingness to obtain one).
Reliable Transportation:
Ability to get to work consistently on time is essential. Working Conditions High-temperature environment (near grills and ovens). Fast-paced, high-volume shifts. Requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
