Responsibilities Responsible for all aspects of kitchen operations, including preparation, cooking, and portioning of food Maintains and properly uses all kitchen equipment. Consistently ensures that prep duties are excellently prepped, seasoned and cooked to the standards taught by the culinary leads. Follows standard operating procedures of all recipes, techniques, and builds sheets of assigned dishes as taught by culinary leads. Responsible for correct product storage of all mise en place, including labeling and dating procedures. Exhibits at least average knife skills in speed and accuracy to maintain a professional line cook's workload. Has intimate knowledge of Department of Health standards and uses them as a guide to maintain sanitation of kitchen area. Skills Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant environments with a strong understanding of kitchen operations Knowledge of safety standards in food production and food safety management practices Knife skills with slicing techniques that ensure efficiency and precision Ability to operate various kitchen equipment safely and effectively Strong communication skills for effective coordination with kitchen team members Experience in dietary departments or dietary aide roles is a plus, demonstrating familiarity with special dietary needs Skills in menu planning, meal preparation, catering experience, and food industry best practices are highly desirable Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and food handling procedures
