Job Description

Under general supervision, an employee in this class performs routine cooking in the large production of meals at Suffolk County correctional facilities. Supervision is exercised over a number of inmates. Assignments follow set departmental policies and procedures, and menus are prepared by the Jail Head Cook. Performs institutional cooking for inmates two weeks Prepares and cooks food for a large number of correction personnel for two weeks. Must maintain security clearance to work in the Jail Oversees the inmates in preparing food
IMPORTANT
: This position has a rotating schedule encompassing 5 Days On, 3 Days Off, 5 Days On, 2 Days Off and will work Holidays The target salary for this position is $48,735 •This position does not offer relocation assistance at this time •Sponsorship is not available for this role.
QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from a standard senior high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and six (6) months of experience in the preparation of food on a large scale. Suffolk County's Commitment to
