Hickory Harvest Foods, conveniently located in Akron, OH is a 3rd generation family owned business who's a leader in the ever constant growing multi-billion dollar healthy snacks industry! We are an ambitious company always seeking to build on our already successful track record. We are currently seeking energetic individuals who give a sh!t about their work and who want to grow with us! 1st Shift hours: 5a-2:30p Mon-Fri 2nd
Shift Hours:
2:30p-12a, Mon-Fri Hours subject to change based on production needs. 2nd shift candidates will need to train on 1st shift for 6-8 weeks.
Responsibilities:
1. Safely operate roasting equipment. 2. Safely, accurately, and efficiently produce the various roasted nuts for packaging or bulk box up by: a. Correctly reading the roast list b. Understanding the differences between products and their physical properties to effectively know how to roast each product c. Paying close attention to detail to ensure consistency in roasting d. Knowing when to and being able to adjust time and/or temperature to produce a quality product e. Being able to identify the various products, packaging materials, and labels used during roasting and bulk box up f. Using the correct packaging box and the correct box label and applying the box label in the correct position on the packaging box g. Ensuring that the bulk box up is boxed at the correct weights 3. Fill out all product safety and quality paperwork accurately, including: a. All lot numbers on the roasting list (for every raw material, including nuts, salt, oil, sugar, honey, tack, and flavorings) b. Cleaning records sheets (every day and/or every time the roaster is boiled out) 4. Keep a sanitary, safe, and organized workstation so as not to promote contamination of product and/or equipment. 5. Follow all company policies, procedures, and GMP's 6. Train all temporary and hired employees on the basic skills needed to operate the roasters, produce product, and bulk box up. Ensure temporaries follow all company policies, procedures, and GMP's. 7. Arrive for your designated shift on time and stay for the designated number of hours that you were scheduled 8. Attend any mandatory meetings or training sessions
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, reach, stretch, stoop, bend, and use hands and fingers. Must be capable of regularly lifting up to 50 lbs. This position requires the employee to be able to read, write, and communicate orally in English. In addition, the employee must be able to hear and have color vision. The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
