Role:

The NASA Glenn Cafe Grill Cook/Line Cook plays a vital role in delivering high-quality, nutritious, and delicious meals to employees and visitors at the NASA Glenn Research Center. This position is responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of breakfast and lunch menu items efficiently while maintaining strict adherence to food safety and sanitation standards. The role requires collaboration with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation during meal service periods, including breakfast, lunch, and special events. The Grill Cook/Line Cook will contribute to a positive dining experience by maintaining cleanliness, organization, and timely food preparation. Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience as a grill cook, line cook, or similar food preparation role in a commercial kitchen. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards, including ServSafe certification or equivalent. Ability to work standing for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks. Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in a high-volume cafeteria or institutional food service environment. Culinary training or certification from an accredited program. Familiarity with menu planning and inventory management. Ability to operate kitchen equipment such as grills, fryers, and ovens safely and efficiently.
