Job Overview Victorum Learning Center is looking for a dependable, flexible, and hardworking individual to join our team as a Childcare Cook/Floater . This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working around children but also likes staying busy, helping wherever needed, and keeping things organized and clean.
Schedule:
Approximately 9:00 AM-4:00 PM, Monday-Friday About the Position Our center does not operate a full-service kitchen . We are licensed to reheat and serve food, so meal preparation is simple and does not require extensive cooking experience. The Cook/Floater will be responsible for preparing and serving meals and snacks, cleaning up after meals, washing dishes, and helping maintain a clean and organized center. Once kitchen responsibilities are completed, this person will act as a floater throughout the building and assist wherever needed.
Responsibilities Include:
Preparing, reheating, portioning, and serving breakfast, lunch, and snacks according to our center menu Following food safety, sanitation, and allergy procedures Washing dishes and cleaning/sanitizing the food preparation and eating areas Keeping the kitchen and food storage areas clean and organized Completing general cleaning and light housekeeping throughout the center as needed Providing classroom coverage so teachers can take scheduled breaks Stepping into infant, toddler, preschool, and school-age classrooms as needed Assisting teachers with supervision, meals, transitions, activities, and classroom routines Helping with laundry, restocking supplies, organization, and other small tasks throughout the center Being willing to jump in and help wherever needed to keep the day running smoothly What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who is dependable, proactive, flexible, and comfortable staying busy throughout the day. This is not a position where you will remain in the kitchen for the entire shift. The ideal candidate notices what needs to be done and is willing to help without needing constant direction. Candidates should be comfortable working with children of different ages, cleaning, washing dishes, completing miscellaneous tasks, and providing classroom coverage. Previous childcare or food-service experience is helpful but not required. We are happy to train the right person who is reliable, positive, and willing to learn. Because this position provides classroom coverage, candidates must be able to meet all Ohio childcare employment requirements, including required background checks and trainings.
