Job Description

Overview Join our dedicated dietary team as a Dietary Aide, where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional nutritional care and support to our residents. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment focused on promoting health, safety, and well-being through proper food handling, meal preparation, and compassionate service. Your energy and attention to detail will help ensure our residents receive nutritious, appealing meals in a safe and sanitized setting. Responsibilities Assist in preparing and serving meals according to dietary guidelines and resident preferences while adhering to strict food safety standards. Follow proper food handling procedures, including sanitation, cleaning, and maintaining kitchen cleanliness in compliance. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently during meal preparation and food service activities. Work closely with nursing staff to accommodate specific dietary requirements for residents with special needs or medical conditions. Practice safe manual handling techniques during heavy lifting and food transportation tasks to prevent injury. Maintain accurate records of food inventory, meal counts, and dietary documentation while managing time effectively during busy service periods. Qualifications Previous experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly preferred. Knowledge of food production, preparation, sanitation, and safety protocols including proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment such as ovens, mixers, and dishwashers. Strong understanding of adhering to dietary requirements and working with geriatric patients or individuals with special dietary needs. Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently during high-volume meal times. Basic math skills for portioning ingredients and managing inventory accurately. Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety practices including safe lifting techniques and sanitation standards. CPR certification is a plus; willingness to obtain if not already certified. Strong customer service orientation with the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment dedicated to resident care and satisfaction.
