Duties Prepare and cook meals during weekend overnight shifts, adhering strictly to established recipes and portion sizes. Execute food production tasks including grilling, braising, poaching, and other cooking techniques to produce high-volume dishes efficiently. Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively, including ovens, grills, mixers, and sanitizing tools. Follow food safety protocols and sanitizing procedures to maintain a clean and hazard-free kitchen environment. Assist with menu planning and meal preparation tailored to dietary requirements and preferences. Ensure proper food handling practices are maintained at all times to promote safety and quality standards. Support dietary department needs by preparing specialized meals for residents or clients with specific dietary restrictions or preferences. Qualifications Previous dietary aide experience or food service experience in a fast-paced environment is highly desirable. Strong culinary skills including knife skills, food preparation, and knowledge of various cooking methods such as grilling, braising, poaching, and catering. Experience with food safety management systems and sanitizing procedures. Knowledge of menu planning, recipe adherence, and high-volume food production. Familiarity with operating commercial kitchen equipment safely. Ability to work independently during overnight shifts while maintaining attention to detail. Prior restaurant or fine dining experience is a plus; experience in the food industry or catering is beneficial.
