Job Goal:
To serve the students consistently attractive, nutritional balanced meals that comply with USDA meal requirements, maintain all sanitation regulations, maintain total efficiency in job and inventory productivity.
Essential Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent as required by OAR 581-37-030, Oregon Department of Education Willingness to upgrade skills and training in all phases of school food service Must be 18 years of age Preferred one year of experience in school food service One year experience in quantity food preparation Enthusiasm toward students The ability to work successfully and closely with students and cooks Follow verbal and/or written directions and instructions Have strong organizational skills Ability to obtain a Food Handlers card and Serve Safe Certification Ability to work independently Basic computer skills Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may also be assigned): Supervises and trains personnel and students effectively Assist with the preparation of all food menu items in the amounts as specified by the daily production schedule Prepare and serve food Responsible for cleaning kitchen area, equipment and dishes Make required reports on quantities of supplies used in daily production and order supplies from the manager as needed Input student information and deposits into approved computer system Order food and supplies Perform such other tasks (which may require knowledge of other job descriptions) as may seem to be appropriate to the Board or Administration Preferred Licenses, Registrations, Bonding and/or
Testing Required:
1. Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Food Handler's Certificate (OAR 333.175.000) 2. Pre-employment drug screening required (includes THC screening) 3. Possess a valid First Aid card, if required 4. Possess a valid Oregon Driver's License, if required 5. Blood borne Pathogens Training/Hepatitis B Shot Series Training, if required 6. SafeSchools Training as required
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Moderate degree of physical stamina and frequent lifting up to 50 lbs. Frequent walking, bending, reaching, twisting, and prolonged periods of standing. Exposure to noise, heat, cold, hot and cold surfaces, sharp and moving equipment. Requires coordination and dexterity to prepare foods. Ability to move freely around the kitchen and storage areas to perform food preparation and food serving duties.
