Job Description

Line Cook — Fire and Ash (Seasonal)
Location:
Ontario, OR — mainly operating out of our Ontario outpost
Pay:
$16-18/hr + tips
Type:
Seasonal, entry-level About Us Fire and Ash is a Cali Baja-style food truck and catering operation — smoked meats, fire-grilled proteins, and made-to-order tacos with bold, fresh flavors. We're fast-paced, hands-on, and proud of the food we put out. The Role We're looking for a Line Cook to join our truck crew for the season. You'll work the line during service — prepping ingredients, grilling and assembling tacos and plates, and keeping things moving during rushes. No fine dining experience required — just some solid kitchen basics. We'll train you on our systems and recipes, and what matters most is a good attitude, reliability, and the ability to stay cool under pressure in a small, hot workspace. What You'll Do Prep ingredients before service (chopping, portioning, marinating, etc.) Cook and assemble tacos, burritos, and specials to order Maintain a clean, organized, and safe cooking station Follow food safety and sanitation standards Work efficiently as part of a tight-knit crew during busy rushes Help with truck setup, breakdown, and basic equipment maintenance What We're Looking For 6+ months of kitchen, food truck, or restaurant experience preferred (line cook, prep cook, or similar) Basic knife skills and comfort following recipes/prep lists Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a compact, fast-paced space Comfortable working around heat, grills, and fryers Reliable, punctual, and able to work weekends/evenings as needed Team player with a positive attitude Food handler's card (or willingness to obtain one before start date) Good to Know This is a seasonal position — hours and schedule will vary with our event and service calendar Work is primarily based at our Ontario outpost, though occasional off-site catering events may apply Tips are pooled/shared among crew
