Duties Prepare and cook nutritious meals and snacks that meet dietary guidelines for children Plan weekly menus incorporating balanced, appealing options suitable for various age groups Follow strict food safety sanitizing procedures to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, mixers, blenders, and food processors efficiently and safely Handle food with care, ensuring proper food handling techniques are followed at all times Assist with food production for large quantities, maintaining high-volume cooking standards Adhere to recipes precisely to ensure consistency and quality in every meal served Requirements Proven experience as a dietary aide or cook within childcare, healthcare, or food service settings Strong knowledge of food safety management and sanitizing procedures Skilled in menu planning, food preparation, and cooking techniques including poaching, braising, grilling, and food handling Experience operating commercial kitchen equipment with confidence and safety awareness Familiarity with culinary practices such as knife skills and high-volume production processes Ability to follow detailed recipes accurately while maintaining efficiency during busy meal times Excellent organizational skills with an eye for cleanliness and safety standards This role is ideal for individuals passionate about culinary arts with a focus on healthful eating for children.
