Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Daycare Cook to join our vibrant early childhood education team. Duties Prepare and cook daily meals and snacks for children, ensuring adherence to approved menus and dietary guidelines Plan menus that incorporate nutritious ingredients, variety, and appealing presentation suitable for young children Follow food safety sanitizing procedures to maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, mixers, and food preparation tools safely and efficiently Handle food production tasks including poaching, braising, grilling, and other cooking techniques to create diverse menu options Ensure proper food handling practices are followed at all times to meet health regulations and prevent contamination Assist with inventory management by ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels of ingredients and kitchen essentials Qualifications Previous dietary aide or food service experience, preferably within a childcare or similar setting Knowledge of menu planning, food preparation, and cooking techniques including poaching, braising, grilling, and food safety management Experience with high-volume food production and meal preparation in a fast-paced environment Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently Strong knife skills and proficiency in food handling procedures Understanding of food safety sanitizing procedures and adherence to health regulations Excellent organizational skills with the ability to follow recipes accurately and maintain cleanliness standards Join us in creating nourishing meals that make a difference!
