Job Description

Job Summary At Heritage Springs, our team is dedicated to providing exceptional care and meaningful experiences for our residents. We are currently seeking a Cook who takes pride in preparing high-quality meals while creating a warm, welcoming dining experience. If you enjoy working independently, staying organized, and making a positive impact, we'd love to have you join our team. The Cook is responsible for the daily preparation, cooking, and plating of meals for residents while maintaining kitchen operations during assigned shifts. This role plays a critical part in ensuring residents receive nutritious, timely, and enjoyable meals in a safe and sanitary environment. Duties Meal Preparation & Service Prepare, cook, and plate meals according to menus and dietary requirements Ensure meals are served on time with proper portions and presentation Modify meals for special diets as needed Kitchen Operations Maintain responsibility for kitchen operations during assigned shifts Ensure kitchen organization, workflow, and readiness Receive, inspect, and properly store food and supplies Sanitation & Food Safety Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines Clean kitchen, equipment, and storage areas daily Maintain proper food labeling, storage, and temperature controls Inventory & Waste Control Monitor inventory levels and report shortages Minimize food waste and avoid overproduction Ensure meals are served on time with proper portions and presentation Modify meals for special diets as needed Skills Experience in dietary departments or dietary aide roles is highly desirable Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen operations Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in food presentation and safety protocols Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (required) Food safety certification (preferred or must obtain within 30 days) If you're passionate about cooking and want to make a difference in residents' lives every day, we encourage you to apply!
