Moravian Manor Communities is a premier not-for-profit senior living center that has been serving older adults for 50 years. We are currently seeking an experienced Cook who is looking for a rewarding career to join our Culinary Services team! This is a full-time opportunity, 32-hours per week and offers competitive pay, excellent benefits, and a set schedule—weekdays 11:00am to 7:30pm. Every other weekend (6:30am to 3:00pm) and every other holiday is required. The Cook will be working at our Founders Campus in Lititz, PA . Prepare and serve meals for residents and guests. Prepare all food items according to standard recipes and / or as specified on resident check to ensure consistency of product to the residents. Follow recipes, menu notes and production sheets accurately Prepare food in proper amount based on number of servings to be served Assist other cooks with prep and special functions Document finished cooking temperatures and temperatures of foods before leaving the kitchen Properly clean and sanitize work stations and tables. What do I need in the role of Cook? 1-3 years of culinary experience Ability to work every other weekend and holiday rotations Knowledge of all areas of production including soups, sauces, entrees, sides, and ability to produce some desserts. Ability to follow recipes and production guidelines Knowledge of all cooking equipment including proper use and care/cleaning/sanitizing of equipment and production areas Knowledge of producing food items for specialized diets a plus. ServSafe certification preferred Applicants selected for an interview will be expected to complete a cooking demo.
