Overview Join our dynamic culinary team as a Cook, where your passion for food and dedication to excellence will shine while serving seniors! In this energetic role, you'll be responsible for preparing delicious, high-quality meals that delight our residents who live at Advent Senior Living. Your culinary expertise will contribute to creating a welcoming environment, ensuring every dish is crafted with care and precision. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-paced food industry setting, working alongside talented kitchen staff committed to excellence. Duties Prepare and cook a variety of menu items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring consistency and quality. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, fryers, slicers, and mixers. Follow food safety protocols diligently, including proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures. Assist in menu planning and meal preparation for daily service or special catering events. Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen appliances to ensure a hygienic environment. Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal production and ensure timely service. Adhere strictly to recipe guidelines and portion control to minimize waste and optimize food quality. Experience Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is highly desirable. Familiarity with dietary department procedures or dietary aide experience is a plus. Demonstrated skills in food preparation, cooking techniques, and knife handling—including slicing techniques—are essential. Knowledge of food safety management practices and safety standards in production environments is required. Experience with menu planning, catering services, or culinary roles will support success in this position. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with kitchen staff and other team members are necessary. Proven ability to operate various kitchen equipment safely while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene. $15.00 - $17.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 - 40.0 per week
