Job Description
CACFP sponsored childcare center seeking an experienced and passionate Cook to join our team! Home cooks are encouraged to apply. This position offers the fleixbility of daytime hours and input on menu planning. If you thrie in an energetic environment and love working with children, this role is perfect for you!
Qualifications:
- Must be over 18+ with a high school diploma or GED
- Clear TB test results, physical examination, and criminal record, FBI, and child abuse clearances will be required post interview and prior to employment
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs from the ground and 20 lbs overhead
- Ability to bend, stoop, stretch and stand for extended periods of time
- Must meet all state requirements for childcare food service positions
- Valid driver's license and good driving record preferred
- Willing and able to obtain and maintain: ServSafe Certification County Food Manager Certification First Aid/CPR Certification.
Required Skills:
- Excellent time management skills and organizational skills
- Self-starter who is able to work independently
- Ability to read and follow a recipe
- Passion for working with children
- Previous kitchen or childcare experience is a plus but not required (home cooks encouraged!)
- Experience with CACFP (Child and Adult Care Food Program) guidelines highly preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare home-style meals for 100+ children, considering dietary restrictions and allergies
- Following the CACFP for nutritional guidelines to create menus and quantities served per age group
- Serving 2 meals and snack on a set schedule
- Performing bi-weekly food and supply inventory and submitting lists to management for ordering.
- Check supply deliveries for accuracy
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, appliances, and food storage areas per PA Health and Safety Codes Why Join Us?
