Description Your Next Shift Could Change a Life! At City Mission, every meal is opportunity to share hope! We are currently seeking a cook to prepare, and serve 3 meals Monday through Friday. 2 meals are served on Saturday & Sunday. As our Cook you'll work with staff, volunteers, and residents in safe food practices. Weekend availability is required. Starting pay is $16.50 per hour, plus excellent benefits including healthcare, vacation, holidays, match for 401K retirement plan.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepare and cook shift appropriate meal (breakfast/lunch/dinner). Make prep lists and execute prep for the next meal.

Work alongside residential guests assigned to kitchen:

Properly use, clean and store equipment.

Put away orders and donations; ensure proper food handling and storage.

Assist with menu planning as needed.

Observe established health and safety standards and procedures, including those of Washington County Health Department, USDA and

OSHA. SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Christian with a ministry mindset.

Proper food handling, preparation, knowledge of cooking terms and techniques.

Able to cook tasty meals and follow instructions.

Good eye-hand motor skills: precise, careful, and safety conscious.

Interpersonal skills, able to clearly communicate verbally and promote teamwork.

Able to work with diverse groups of people, treating all with dignity and respect.

Valid Pennsylvania driver's license preferred.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED. One+ year previous cooking experience. Servsafe certified or courses completed in sanitation with local health department. Additional coursework in food service or culinary arts preferred. Additional Details
