As a key player in our kitchen, you'll be responsible for preparing a variety of menu items with precision and care, maintaining food safety standards, and supporting the overall operation of our busy restaurant during the late-night hours. Duties Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, ensuring consistency and quality in every plate. Operate kitchen equipment such as grills, ovens, fryers, poaching stations, braising pots, and food production appliances safely and efficiently. Assist with menu planning by preparing ingredients and dishes that meet dietary specifications and customer preferences. Maintain strict adherence to food safety sanitizing procedures and food handling protocols to ensure a clean and safe kitchen environment. Support high-volume food production by managing multiple orders simultaneously while maintaining speed and accuracy. Execute food preparation tasks including grilling, braising, poaching, and other cooking techniques with skillful knife work. Follow recipe adherence closely to ensure consistency across all dishes served during the shift. Contribute to the dietary department by preparing meals that meet specific dietary needs or restrictions. Assist with catering events or special meal preparations as needed during the overnight hours. Skills Proven experience in food preparation within a restaurant or food service setting, including fine dining or high-volume environments. Strong knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures. Skilled in operating various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently. Excellent knife skills with the ability to perform precise cuts for diverse ingredients. Experience with menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal preparation tailored to dietary requirements. Familiarity with cooking techniques such as grilling, braising, poaching, and other culinary methods. Background in dietary aide work or dietary department experience is a plus. Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Knowledge of food industry standards related to food handling, sanitation, and safety regulations. Previous restaurant experience demonstrating reliable food service skills and teamwork during late-night shifts is highly desirable.
