Responsibilities Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, fryers, and food prep tools. Follow food safety management procedures to maintain a clean and hygienic workspace, including proper food handling and sanitation practices. Assist with meal preparation, slicing ingredients using proper knife skills and slicing techniques to ensure precision and safety. Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff through clear communication to coordinate food production and meet service times. Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area by cleaning workstations, utensils, and equipment regularly. Support menu planning efforts by providing feedback on recipes and ingredient availability. Skills Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments with a strong foundation in culinary techniques. Knowledge of food safety standards in production, handling, and storage to ensure compliance with health regulations. Skilled in food preparation methods including cooking, slicing, portioning, and plating dishes attractively. Familiarity with operating various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently. Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork within the kitchen environment. Experience with dietary department procedures or dietary aide responsibilities is a plus.
