- Supportive, team-focused environment Position Summary As a Cook, you will prepare and serve meals while ensuring a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen environment. You will also step into a leadership role in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals according to menus and dietary guidelines
- Ensure compliance with dietary restrictions and special diets, including modified textures
- Maintain a safe, clean, and sanitary kitchen environment
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and portion control standards
- Monitor and record food temperatures
- Assist with meal service and ensure appealing presentation
- Maintain sanitizer solutions and follow cleaning schedules
- Clean kitchen equipment, workspaces, and serving carts
- Collaborate with dietary staff and other departments
- Report resident concerns to leadership as needed
- Oversee kitchen operations in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- At least 1 year of cooking experience, preferably in healthcare or long-term care
- Understanding of dietary restrictions and therapeutic diets
- Must obtain and maintain ServSafe Certification
- Knowledge of PointClickCare (PCC) preferred
- Friendly, professional demeanor
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
