Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic culinary team as a Pit Cook, where your passion for cooking and expertise in food preparation will help create memorable dining experiences. In this energetic role, you'll be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of smoked, grilled, braised, poached, and roasted dishes that showcase your culinary skills. Your attention to detail and commitment to food safety will ensure high-quality meals served in a fast-paced environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your culinary talents while contributing to a vibrant food service operation dedicated to excellence. Duties Prepare and cook a wide range of meats on an open pit following established recipes and standards. Operate kitchen equipment such as grills, ovens, and food preparation tools safely and efficiently. Assist with menu planning by providing input on dish execution and ingredient selection. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all food preparation areas in accordance with food safety procedures. Ensure food handling practices meet health regulations and support the dietary department's standards for safety and quality. Support high-volume production needs during busy service times while adhering strictly to recipe specifications. Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation, plating, and serving processes for optimal efficiency. Requirements Previous experience in dietary aide roles or food service environments is highly desirable. Demonstrated skills in food preparation techniques such grilling, and knife handling. Experience with menu planning, recipe adherence, and food production in a fast-paced setting. Knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures and proper food handling practices. Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment including grills, ovens, and food processors. Strong background in culinary experience within restaurant ; high-volume production experience is a plus. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards.
