Job Summary Join our dedicated dietary team as a PRN (pro re nata, or as-needed) Dietary Cook, where your culinary skills and passion for food service will make a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents. In this flexible role, you will prepare nutritious and appealing meals that meet dietary guidelines and enhance the dining experience. Your expertise in food handling, menu planning, and food safety will ensure that every plate served is both delicious and safe. This position offers the opportunity to work in a vibrant environment, supporting residents' well-being through quality meal preparation and service. Duties Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus, ensuring consistency and quality in taste and presentation Follow established recipes and dietary guidelines to accommodate special diets and nutritional needs Assist with menu planning by suggesting appealing meal options that meet dietary requirements Handle food safely by adhering to proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures Serve meals to residents with professionalism and courtesy, ensuring a positive dining experience Support catering functions or special events as needed, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, utensils, and equipment to uphold health standards Experience Prior experience working in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is preferred Culinary experience in fine dining or restaurant settings is highly desirable Knowledge of menu planning, food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety protocols Familiarity with food handling regulations within the food industry or healthcare environments Skills in knife handling, meal preparation, and food presentation to ensure high-quality service Experience with catering or large-scale food service operations is a plus Strong understanding of kitchen operations, including food industry standards and safety practices This role is perfect for individuals passionate about culinary arts who thrive in dynamic environments.
