We are currently seeking an experienced Cook to provide meal preparation and food service support for one of our residential senior living clients in Allen, Texas. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious, home-style meals for up to 20 senior residents, following established menus and dietary guidelines, and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment. We are looking for someone who is dependable, organized, and takes pride in preparing quality meals for seniors in a smaller, home-like residential setting.

Responsibilities:

Preparing and cooking meals for up to 20 senior residents Following established menus, recipes, portion guidelines, and dietary requirements Preparing breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, and other meal items as needed Accommodating special diets and food consistency requirements as directed Plating and serving meals Monitoring and documenting food temperatures as required Properly storing, labeling, and rotating food Maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, pantry, refrigerator, and food preparation areas Washing dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen equipment Cleaning and sanitizing counters, appliances, sinks, floors, and food preparation surfaces Following food safety, sanitation, and infection-control requirements Monitoring food and kitchen supplies and communicating when items need to be replenished Helping create a welcoming, home-like dining experience for residents

Qualifications:

Previous cooking or food service experience required Experience working in senior living, assisted living, memory care, residential care, healthcare, or dietary food service is preferred Knowledge of basic food preparation, sanitation, and safe food-handling practices Ability to follow menus, recipes, portion guidelines, and dietary instructions Food Handler certification preferred or willingness to obtain one Ability to work independently and manage daily food preparation responsibilities Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and food safety Dependable and reliable Comfortable working in a residential environment with senior residents Ability to stand for extended periods and perform normal kitchen-related physical tasks Ability to effectively communicate in English Must be authorized to work in the
