Overview Join our vibrant team as a Daycare Cook, where your culinary skills will play a vital role in nurturing young minds through nutritious and delicious meals. Duties Plan and develop engaging, nutritious menus tailored to the dietary needs of children in a daycare setting Prepare, cook, and serve meals that meet safety standards and adhere to approved recipes Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, mixers, and food processors efficiently and safely Follow food safety sanitizing procedures to maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment Handle food with care, practicing proper food handling techniques including poaching, braising, grilling, and food production methods Assist with food portioning and meal presentation to ensure appealing and balanced servings Maintain accurate records of food inventory, storage conditions, and sanitation practices Qualifications Previous dietary aide or food service experience in a high-volume or childcare setting is preferred Strong knowledge of menu planning, food preparation techniques including poaching, braising, grilling, and knife skills Experience with food safety management and sanitizing procedures is essential Familiarity with dietary department operations or food industry standards enhances your suitability for this role Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently while adhering to health regulations Excellent organizational skills for meal prep, recipe adherence, and inventory management Prior catering or restaurant experience is advantageous but not required; a passion for healthy cooking is essential Embark on a rewarding culinary journey where your skills nourish young lives while you grow professionally in a supportive environment dedicated to excellence in childcare nutrition.
Pay:
$12.00 - $12.50 per hour Expected hours: 27.0 - 40.0 per week
