Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a strong understanding of food safety and handling practices. This role is essential in ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly, delivering high-quality meals in a fast-paced environment. The Line Cook/Prep Cook will work closely with the kitchen staff to prepare ingredients, cook dishes, and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen. Responsibilities Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and standards. Assist in meal preparation by chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients. Ensure all food handling and safety regulations are followed to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment. Operate kitchen equipment such as knives, ovens, grills, and fryers safely and efficiently. Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure timely service during peak hours. Monitor food inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed. Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment throughout the shift. Support the dietary department in preparing meals that meet specific dietary needs when required. Participate in catering events as needed, ensuring high standards of presentation and quality. Qualifications Previous experience in a food industry role, preferably in a restaurant or fine dining setting. Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Strong knife skills and familiarity with various cooking techniques. Excellent teamwork skills with a willingness to help colleagues as needed. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends if required. A passion for cooking and an eagerness to learn new culinary skills.
