Full Job Description Position Overview:
As a Prep Cook at Cowboy Chicken, you will be a crucial member of our kitchen team, responsible for preparing and assembling various food items that are essential to delivering our mouthwatering wood-fired rotisserie chicken and wholesome meals. Your attention to detail, culinary skills, and commitment to quality will play a significant role in ensuring that our guests have a delightful dining experience filled with the authentic flavors of the American Southwest.
Key Responsibilities:
Food Preparation:
Collaborate with the kitchen team to execute the preparation of menu items, with a primary focus on our signature wood-fired rotisserie chicken. This includes marinating, seasoning, and ensuring that the chicken is ready for slow-roasting to perfection.
Ingredient Readiness:
Assist in prepping all necessary ingredients and components, such as chopping vegetables, preparing side dishes, and mixing marinades, according to Cowboy Chicken's strict quality and portion control standards.
Inventory Management:
Monitor and maintain adequate inventory levels of prepared items, notifying the kitchen manager of any shortages or additional needs in a timely manner.
Food Safety and Sanitation:
Follow strict food safety and hygiene protocols during all preparation tasks, ensuring that all food items are handled, stored, and cooked in a safe and sanitary manner.
Kitchen Organization:
Maintain a clean and organized work area, including food stations, storage areas, and equipment. Adhere to proper sanitation practices to ensure a hygienic environment. Support during

Collaborate with the kitchen team during peak service hours to ensure a smooth flow of food preparation and timely delivery to guests.
Quality Control:
Monitor the quality of food products at various stages of preparation, ensuring that they meet Cowboy Chicken's high standards for taste, appearance, and freshness.
Compliance:
Comply with all health and safety regulations, as well as Cowboy Chicken's policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Skills:
Previous experience as a prep cook or in a similar food preparation role is advantageous, but we are open to training individuals with a passion for the culinary arts. Knowledge of food safety and proper kitchen sanitation practices is highly desirable. Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy. Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team. Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
