Job Description

POSITION PURPOSE

The part-time Cook Center Event Worker will help with setting up events, working and cleaning up after events and general organization of the facility.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Help with moving tables and chairs for Navarro College and private events. Represent Navarro College during hosted events. Will require working some evening events. Basic cleaning of the building before and after events. Help with organizing supplies. General organization and cleaning of facility. Provide a work schedule to assistant Event Coordinator. Attend worker meetings as called. Perform other related duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

A willingness to learn. Ability to follow directions. Able to work independently and with others. Must be approachable and able to communicate with guests. Ability to take initiative. Able to see a project to completeness. Ability to make changes to a layout based on guest feedback. Flexibility is required. Ability to lift and move loads up to 40 lbs. repeatedly.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

High School diploma or equivalent.

Preferred:

Guest service experience.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Variances from regular working hours may be necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of the position. Times will be flexible according to the event schedule. May require working some evenings and weekends. Busy working environment with numerous interruptions. Must have reliable transportation.

SALARY:

$12. per hour / up to 19 hours per week
