St. Paul Christian Learning Center Job Responsibilities Prepare breakfast, lunch, and snacks according to the center's menu. Prepare age-appropriate and nutritious meals for young children. Follow food safety, sanitation, and hygiene procedures. Properly store, label, and date food. Monitor food temperatures and complete required kitchen records. Accommodate children's documented food allergies and dietary restrictions. Keep the kitchen, appliances, dishes, counters, and food-preparation areas clean and sanitized. Maintain an organized kitchen and follow daily cleaning schedules. Monitor food and kitchen supplies and notify administration when supplies are needed. Check expiration dates and properly dispose of expired or spoiled food. Receive and properly store food deliveries. Help minimize food waste while preparing appropriate portions. Follow all school policies and applicable childcare and health regulations. Communicate any food, allergy, safety, or kitchen concerns to the Director. Work cooperatively with teachers and administration to ensure children receive meals and snacks on schedule. Qualifications Previous cooking or food-service experience preferred. Experience preparing food for children is a plus. Must be dependable and able to work independently. Must be organized and able to follow a daily menu and schedule. Must be comfortable working in a childcare environment. Must be able to follow food-safety and sanitation procedures. Must complete required background checks and childcare employment requirements. Food-handler certification may be required according to applicable regulations.
