General Manager Description:
In charge of preparing, cooking, and serving food products in a fast-paced convenience store and restaurant environment. This position supports daily operations beginning before store opening at 5:00 AM to ensure all food items, including breakfast items, hot foods, and coffee, are available to customers at opening. The role requires strict adherence to food safety, sanitation, and operational standards.
Responsibilities:
The Cook is responsible for preparing food in accordance with company recipes, maintaining proper food temperatures, ensuring cleanliness of the kitchen area, and restocking ingredients and supplies as needed. The Cook must ensure that all food is prepared in a timely manner, particularly during peak hours such as early mornings and lunch periods. Additionally, the Cook is responsible for cleaning equipment, maintaining sanitary conditions, and following all opening and closing kitchen procedures.
COMPLIANCE AND SAFETY
The Cook must comply with all applicable food safety regulations, including the FDA Food Code and Texas Department of State Health Services requirements. The position requires proper food handling, storage, labeling, and temperature monitoring. The Cook must maintain a valid Food Handler Certification and follow all sanitation and hygiene protocols.
QUALIFICATIONS
The position requires prior 3 + years of experience in food preparation or restaurant operations, although entry-level candidates may be considered. The employee must be able to work early morning shifts, weekends, and holidays. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain attention to detail is essential.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The position requires standing for extended periods, lifting up to fifty pounds, and working in a hot kitchen environment.
