The Prep Cook plays an important role in setting the kitchen up for a successful day by preparing ingredients, producing recipes, maintaining organization, and supporting the line and other kitchen operations. The ideal candidate is punctual, dependable, team-oriented, and brings a positive, can-do attitude to work every day. This position requires someone who takes pride in doing things correctly, can follow standardized recipes and procedures, and understands that consistency and preparation are the foundation of great food and great service. Key Responsibilities Arrive on time, in proper uniform, and ready to work. Prepare meats, vegetables, sauces, dressings, soups, stocks, and other ingredients according to standardized recipes and established procedures. Accurately follow recipes, portion specifications, prep lists, and production sheets. Maintain proper food handling, sanitation, and food safety standards at all times. Properly label, date, store, and rotate prepared food and ingredients using FIFO procedures. Keep prep areas, equipment, walk-ins, and storage areas clean, organized, and properly stocked. Communicate effectively with chefs, cooks, servers, and other members of the culinary team. Assist line cooks and other kitchen team members with preparation and service needs as directed. Maintain awareness of daily business levels and adjust production as needed. Minimize food waste through proper preparation, storage, portioning, and utilization. Complete assigned prep lists accurately and within established timeframes. Maintain a clean and organized work station throughout the shift. Follow all Cimarron Hills Country Club policies, safety procedures, and culinary standards. Perform additional kitchen duties as needed to support the team and daily operation. Qualifications & Expectations Previous professional kitchen or food preparation experience preferred, but we are willing to train the right person. Ability to consistently follow standardized recipes and written instructions. Strong attention to detail and commitment to consistency. Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential. Positive can-do attitude and willingness to learn. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced and dynamic kitchen environment. Ability to work well as part of a team and communicate effectively. Ability to take direction, accept feedback, and continually improve. Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical kitchen duties, including lifting, bending, reaching, and moving supplies as needed. You don't have to know everything on day one, but you do need to show up, work hard, pay attention, and be willing to learn.
