Hanz Diner is a busy American breakfast and lunch restaurant in North Houston. We are looking for an experienced cook who is strong with eggs, grill, fryer, and breakfast line cooking and can help keep the kitchen running when the Head Cook is off. One of the best things about this job is the schedule. We serve breakfast and lunch only. No dinner service and no late-night shifts. Most shifts finish in the afternoon. Spanish-speaking is strongly preferred because most of our kitchen team communicates in Spanish. What You Will Do Cook eggs, omelets, breakfast items, meats, burgers, and other menu items correctly and quickly Work grill, fryer, and breakfast line stations Handle multiple tickets during busy breakfast and lunch rushes Help organize the line and keep food moving on time Help lead the kitchen when the Head Cook is off Follow Hanz Diner recipes, portions, and kitchen procedures Keep your station clean and organized Work well and communicate with other cooks Help with prep, opening, restocking, and closing duties What We Need 3+ years of restaurant cooking experience required 5+ years of experience preferred Strong breakfast, egg, grill, fryer, and line-cooking experience Experience leading a kitchen or running the line when a Head Cook or Kitchen Manager was not there Experience in a busy American breakfast restaurant or diner is strongly preferred Able to work fast during busy periods Reliable and on time Good team player Willing to learn and follow Hanz Diner procedures Spanish-speaking strongly preferred Available for daytime and weekend shifts as scheduled What We Offer Breakfast and lunch shifts only No dinner shifts No late-night shifts Free meal while working Break Paid training Stable, long-term job Friendly team environment Many of our cooks have worked with us for years.
