$14.00-$18.00 per hour (based on experience) Jackson & Company is seeking a dependable Prep/Line Cook to help support our high-volume Production Kitchen while delivering exceptional food for weddings, corporate events, galas, social celebrations, and private events throughout the Houston area. Position Summary Reporting directly to the Executive Chef or Sous Chef, the Prep/Line Cook plays an essential role in the daily success of our Production Kitchen. This position is responsible for preparing ingredients, executing recipes, and producing high-quality food in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while maintaining the highest standards of consistency, cleanliness, and food safety. The Prep/Line Cook will support daily production kitchen operations while assisting with weddings, catered events, and off-site functions as business needs require. Responsibilities Prepare ingredients according to standardized recipes and daily production schedules. Cook and prepare menu items while maintaining quality, consistency, and presentation standards. Support high-volume food production for weddings, corporate events, private parties, and catered functions. Maintain food quality, portion control, and recipe consistency. Assist with daily food preparation and kitchen production. Receive, inspect, organize, and properly rotate food deliveries. Maintain cleanliness, organization, and food safety standards throughout the kitchen. Communicate effectively with the Executive Chef, Sous Chef, and fellow culinary team members. Assist with off-site catering events and special functions as assigned. Help create a positive, professional, and team-oriented kitchen culture. Perform additional duties as assigned by management. Qualifications Previous Prep Cook, Line Cook, or commercial kitchen experience preferred. Experience in a high-volume restaurant, catering, hotel, or hospitality environment preferred. Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen operations. Ability to multitask and perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices. ServSafe Certification preferred. Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
