Cocinera (Mexican Food) Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and skilled Cocinera to join our culinary team, specializing in authentic Mexican cuisine. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and handling, with a focus on delivering high-quality dishes that reflect the rich flavors of Mexican culture. This role involves working in a fast-paced kitchen environment where creativity and attention to detail are essential. Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of traditional Mexican dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications.
- Ensure all food handling practices comply with food safety standards and regulations.
- Assist in menu planning, including the selection of seasonal ingredients and special dietary options.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper storage of food items.
- Collaborate with catering teams for events, ensuring timely meal preparation and presentation.
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary to maintain stock.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on cooking techniques and food safety practices. Skills
- Proficient in culinary techniques specific to Mexican cuisine, including knowledge of spices, herbs, and traditional cooking methods.
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
- Experience in meal preparation for both small gatherings and larger catering events.

- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a busy kitchen setting.
- Familiarity with menu planning and dietary department requirements is a plus.
- Previous experience working in a restaurant or catering environment is highly desirable.
