Immediate. We're hiring now and ready to get you on the schedule this week. The Funky Door is Lubbock's home for escaping the ordinary: an eclectic fine-dining spot with a chef-driven menu, an award-winning wine list, and a room full of people celebrating something. Behind all of that is a kitchen that takes food seriously without taking itself too seriously. We're looking for line cooks who feel the same way. What you'll be doing Cooking from scratch on a busy line (sauté, grill, garde manger — we'll train you across stations) Plating dishes like sesame-crusted ahi, braised short rib with wild mushroom risotto, and the white chocolate bread pudding people drive across town for Keeping your station stocked, clean, and ready before, during, and after service Working brunch, lunch, dinner, and late-night shifts alongside a crew that has your back What we're looking for At least 1 year of line experience (fine dining a plus, hunger to learn a must) Knife skills, timing, and pride in a clean plate Someone who stays calm on a Saturday-night ticket rail and has fun doing it Reliable, on time, and a good teammate Food handler certification (or willing to get it on day one) Why cook here Competitive pay (open to negotiation based on experience) plus kitchen tip share Shift meals and staff dining discounts Flexible scheduling — tell us what you need Real menu creativity and a clear path to lead cook and sous chef roles A kitchen culture built on respect, not yelling Ready to cook something worth talking about?
