Job Description

Job Summary :
Responsible for serving nutritious, good tasting and appealing meals and snacks to the children at Kids Café sites. Prepare meals and snacks by methods that maintain high nutrient levels in sanitary conditions. Deliver meals to the designated sites on time and within the guidelines set by the program.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan and prepare foods in accordance with the CACFP and SFSP nutritional guidelines Tests foods for taste, texture and eye appeal Orders, food and supplies as necessary to prepare the planned menus for the number of enrolled children Modifies menus for children's field trips, notes all modifications and substitutes on posted menu and for CACFP and SFSP records Oversees kitchen production including meal production and facility management and cleaning Maintains established standards of sanitation, safety and food preparation and storage as set by the local and state health departments, maintains an orderly, sanitary, and safe kitchen Conduct site reviews and visits Assist in kitchen organization Assist in program record keeping Maintains constant communication with Manager regarding positive and negative feedback related to sites Maintains high standards of personal hygiene, appearance and grooming Ability to lift, push, pull, over 50 lbs Ability to drive alone within the 19 counties May perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
High school diploma or Ged Food service prep/kitchen experience Organization, problem solving, record keeping and time management skills Honesty, integrity, and commitment to fighting hunger in West Texas Good verbal and communication skills Must pass a background check and drug screening
