Duties Prepare ingredients and assemble components for menu items according to standardized recipes and presentation standards Cook and plate dishes efficiently while maintaining consistency, quality, and safety standards Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively, including ovens, grills, fryers, slicers, and food processors Follow food handling procedures to ensure proper sanitation and prevent cross-contamination Assist with menu planning by preparing ingredients in advance for upcoming service periods Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment through regular cleaning routines Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure timely service delivery Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food while adhering to recipe specifications and safety guidelines Skills Proven experience in food service environments such as restaurants or catering operations Strong knowledge of food safety management practices and adherence to safety standards in production Skilled in food preparation techniques including slicing, dicing, chopping, and portioning with precision using proper knife skills and slicing techniques Familiarity with operating various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently Experience with menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal preparation processes Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with kitchen team members Background in dietary department or dietary aide roles is a plus for understanding specialized meal needs Ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation through consistent cleaning routines Knowledge of the food industry trends and culinary practices that enhance menu offerings Embark on a rewarding culinary journey where your skills contribute directly to creating memorable dining moments.
