As our Cook, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious, well-balanced meals for our senior clients in a safe, clean, and friendly environment. The ideal candidate will understand the importance of food safety, portion control, and dietary restrictions common among elderly adults.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, and snacks according to a pre-approved menu Follow dietary guidelines and accommodate special diets (e.g., low sodium, diabetic) Ensure meals are served at appropriate temperatures and in a timely manner Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, dining area, and food storage spaces Wash dishes, sanitize kitchen surfaces, and dispose of food waste properly Monitor food inventory and notify management when supplies are low Follow all local health department regulations and food safety standards Maintain daily temperature logs and cleaning checklists Work cooperatively with staff and treat clients with dignity and respect
Qualifications:
Food Handler's Certification (required or willing to obtain before start date) Ability to follow recipes and portion guidelines Must be punctual, organized, and able to work independently Experience working with elderly or disabled populations is a plus Must pass a background check (required by licensing regulations)
