La Unión del Pueblo Entero, LUPE is a social justice, community-building, membership organization, founded by Cesar Chavez and Dolores Huerta. LUPE provides free and culturally- responsive education programs to satisfy the needs of the Spanish-speaking community of the Rio Grande Valley. LUPE is seeking an energetic, eloquent, and compassionate Maintenance Technician. LUPE has a sister organization, LUPE Votes, a separate, but related, nonprofit organization that is exempt from federal income tax under section 501(c)(4) of the Internal Revenue Code. Although LUPE and LUPE Votes share a common goal of supporting immigrants and low-income people in Rio Grande Valley, and nationally, they are separate organizations with their own board of directors and a set of employees at the two organizations, including the person filling this position, share their time between the two organizations. This has no effect on salary or benefits. SUMMARY Maintains sanitary conditions and general cleanliness of structures and buildings by performing the following duties.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES MAINTENANCE
Painting interior and exterior walls and trim. Maintains and repairs wood parts of buildings. Repairs any roof damage.LANDSCAPING
Cut grass and trim weeds on the organization's property. Water and tend flower beds and plants.CLEANING
Cleans external areas of buildings, including outside walls, windows, pavements, and similar areas. Fixes any plumbing issues. GENERAL Receives written work orders or verbal instructions from supervisor. Assists other workers with moving furniture and unloading and storing supplies. Conduct calls to receive quotes on jobs that need to be done, but he is not able to. Have knowledge of basic computer skills. Perform other related duties as assigned.
