Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Cook/Assistant Dietary Manager, where you will play a vital role in delivering nutritious, delicious meals while ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. This energetic position combines culinary expertise with leadership responsibilities, supporting the dietary department's mission to promote well-being and quality of life for our residents. You will oversee food preparation, manage food service operations, and assist in coordinating dietary care plans, all within a vibrant, team-oriented environment. Duties Prepare and cook meals according to dietary guidelines, ensuring quality, safety, and presentation standards are met Assist in managing food service operations, including inventory control, ordering supplies, and maintaining proper storage practices Supervise food production staff and dietary team members to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to health regulation policies Support patient assessment processes by understanding individual dietary needs, restrictions, and preferences Implement food safety management protocols to maintain compliance with health codes and prevent contamination or spoilage Assist in developing and updating care plans related to nutrition and dietary interventions for residents or patients Manage food service health code compliance through regular inspections, staff training, and documentation using electronic health records (EHR) systems Experience Proven experience in assisted living facilities or healthcare settings with a focus on dietary services Strong background in food production, food safety management, and nutrition principles Supervisory or team management experience within a dietary or food service department Knowledge of health regulation policies related to food service health code compliance and acute care standards Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for managing electronic health records related to dietetics and care plans Experience with budget management, food service management, and managing food service teams effectively Understanding of physiology, clinical nutrition, dietetics principles, and patient assessment techniques This role offers an exciting opportunity to combine culinary skills with healthcare support in a fast-paced environment dedicated to enhancing residents' quality of life through nutritious meals.
