We are looking to add new members to our kitchen team and are hiring immediately . Located at 220 N. Lee Street in Old Town Alexandria, VA , just one block from the waterfront and conveniently situated between Queen and King Streets, The Commodore is looking for dependable, hardworking cooks who take pride in quality food, teamwork, and a clean kitchen. Job Overview The Line Cook follows direction from the Chef and Kitchen Supervisor to maintain the highest standards of food quality, consistency, cleanliness, and safety. We are a bilingual kitchen where Spanish and English are spoken daily. We value clear communication, teamwork, and a respectful work environment where everyone can work together effectively. Spanish- and English-speaking applicants are welcome. Duties & Responsibilities Complete daily kitchen and station checklists. Execute prep lists and other food preparation as directed. Maintain cleanliness and organization of your station and the kitchen throughout the shift in accordance with company standards, Department of Health requirements, and local regulations. Properly stock and maintain your assigned station. Communicate any inconsistencies or concerns to the Kitchen Manager or Kitchen Supervisor before the start of service. Review station prep prior to service to ensure proper quality and adequate prep levels. Prepare and execute dishes during service while following recipes and standard operating procedures to ensure consistency, quality, and attractive presentation. Maintain a safe workplace and promptly communicate safety concerns to the Chef or Kitchen Supervisor. Assist with other kitchen duties as assigned by the Chef or Kitchen Supervisor. Qualifications & General Expectations Minimum 1 year of experience as a cook in a high-volume restaurant . Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays . Ability to work in an environment exposed to both hot and cold temperatures, including around ovens, grills, refrigerators, and freezers. Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team. Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and food quality. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
