Key Duties Direct and assign prep-related tasks to FSWs on shift; work alongside them to complete prep for the day. Prepare snacks, nourishments, and floor stock items per PAR levels, LEAF orders, phone requests, and recipes. Follow recipes exactly, accounting for modified diets, allergies, and texture/IDDSI requirements. Use knives, mixers, blenders, and slicers safely. Follow safe food handling/HACCP practices per the 2022 FDA Food Code. Practice "clean as you go"; keep cardboard boxes out of the work area. Clean and sanitize trayline/tray holders, tray assembly area, dining room, and worktables. Coordinate with the Supervisor on daily prep planning and staffing needs. Requirements Willingness to complete ServSafe Food Handler Certification after hire (company-arranged, before first day on site). Comfortable with knife work and kitchen equipment; prior prep experience preferred. Must pass VA background investigation/PSAC (post-hire, company-sponsored) and obtain facility badge before start. 18+, legally authorized to work in the U.S., no disqualifying criminal history. Able to stand a full shift and lift up to 35 lbs.
