Job Description
Prep Cook / Line Cook The Oak & Ivy Taphouse | Smithfield, VA The Oak & Ivy Taphouse is looking to add two Prep Cook / Line Cook positions to our kitchen team! Positions Available 30-40 hours per week 15-25 hours per week We're a small, from-scratch kitchen , which means everyone works together and everyone pitches in. This isn't a kitchen where you'll only work one station or have one responsibility. Our team helps with prep, line cooking, cleaning, dishes, organization, and whatever else is needed to keep the kitchen running smoothly. We're looking for people who already have some restaurant or kitchen experience , are dependable, work well with others, and are willing to learn. What You'll Do Prep ingredients for daily service, specials, and events Work the line and prepare dishes according to our recipes and standards Safely operate fryers, ovens, grills, slicers, mixers, knives, and other kitchen equipment Maintain a clean, organized, and stocked workstation Follow proper food handling, storage, sanitation, and food-safety procedures Help with dishes, cleaning, stocking, and general kitchen upkeep Work alongside the rest of the BOH team to keep service running smoothly Assist with larger prep projects, catering, specials, and events as needed What We're Looking For Previous restaurant or kitchen experience preferred Basic prep, cooking, and knife skills Dependable and able to show up ready to work Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment Willing to learn and take direction Able to communicate and work well as part of a small team Someone who understands that everyone pitches in Opportunity to Grow We want people who are interested in becoming a long-term part of our kitchen team.
