In this vital role, you will prepare high-quality ingredients and dishes, support the kitchen's daily operations, and ensure that every meal meets our rigorous safety and quality standards. Your enthusiasm for food industry best practices and culinary techniques will help create a vibrant dining experience that delights our guests. Whether you're slicing fresh vegetables, cooking signature dishes, or maintaining a clean and organized workspace, your energy and commitment will be essential to our success. Duties Prepare ingredients according to recipes, including chopping, slicing, dicing, and portioning to ensure consistency and quality. Cook menu items with precision, adhering strictly to recipe specifications and presentation standards. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, fryers, mixers, and food processors. Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment in compliance with food safety standards. Assist in menu planning by providing input on ingredient availability and preparation methods. Support food handling procedures by following proper safety protocols to prevent cross-contamination and ensure freshness. Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff through clear communication to ensure smooth meal service flow. Assist with catering events or special meal preparations as needed. Follow all safety standards during food production to minimize hazards and ensure a safe working environment. Experience Previous experience working in a restaurant or food service environment is highly preferred, but training can also be completed. Students welcome to apply! Experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is a plus, demonstrating familiarity with specialized food preparation needs. Knowledge of food safety management practices and adherence to safety standards in production is essential. Skilled in culinary techniques such as knife skills, slicing techniques, and recipe adherence. Familiarity with operating various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently. Experience with meal preparation for large groups or catering events is advantageous. Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with kitchen staff and other team members.
