Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Sushi Prep Cook to join our vibrant culinary team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality sushi and related Japanese dishes, ensuring each plate meets our standards of freshness, presentation, and safety. Your energy and culinary skills will contribute to creating an exceptional dining experience for our guests. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your sushi-making expertise while working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment dedicated to culinary excellence. Duties Prepare sushi ingredients including fish, vegetables, rice, and seaweed with precision and adherence to recipes and safety standards Slice fish and other ingredients using proper knife skills and slicing techniques to ensure consistency and quality Assemble sushi rolls, nigiri, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes according to established recipes and presentation guidelines Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment in compliance with food safety regulations Operate kitchen equipment such as rice cookers, slicers, blenders, and refrigeration units safely and efficiently Assist in menu planning by preparing ingredients for upcoming dishes and special orders Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate food preparation and ensure timely service Experience Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate Demonstrated food preparation skills within a restaurant or food service environment, especially in sushi or Asian cuisine Knowledge of food safety management practices and adherence to safety standards in production environments Experience with food handling, cleaning procedures, and operating kitchen equipment safely Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and team members Culinary experience that includes knife skills, slicing techniques, meal preparation, and recipe adherence is highly desirable Catering experience or familiarity with the food industry can be an asset for this role Join us in delivering exceptional sushi experiences by combining your culinary talent with our commitment to quality.
