In this vital role, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious and appealing meals, assisting with menu planning, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and hygiene. Your enthusiasm for culinary arts and commitment to providing compassionate care will help create a warm, welcoming environment for all. Duties Assist in planning and executing daily menus that meet dietary guidelines and resident preferences Prepare, cook, and serve meals with attention to presentation, flavor, and nutritional value Handle food safely by following proper food handling procedures, sanitation standards, and storage protocols Support dietary team members in meal assembly, portioning, and plating to ensure consistency and quality Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas in compliance with health regulations Collaborate with the dietary department to accommodate special diets and allergy restrictions Contribute to catering events or special meal services as needed, ensuring timely delivery and excellent service Experience Prior experience working in dietary or food service environments, preferably within healthcare or senior living settings Strong background in food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen operations Familiarity with menu planning, food safety standards, and proper food handling procedures Experience in fine dining or restaurant environments is a plus, demonstrating attention to detail and quality Knowledge of culinary skills such as knife handling, meal assembly, and food presentation Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and support residents' needs
