We're a historic, award-winning hotel in the heart of downtown Winchester, Virginia, where great hospitality, good food, and memorable experiences come together. Our culinary team serves a variety of guests and events, from breakfast and dinner service to banquets, weddings, meetings, and special celebrations. That means there's always something happening in our kitchen—and plenty of opportunity to keep your skills sharp. If you take pride in your work, enjoy being part of a team, and know that great food starts with consistency, preparation, and attention to detail, we'd love to have you in our kitchen. What You'll Do As an Experienced Line Cook, you'll play an important role in delivering the quality food our guests expect.
Your days may include:
Preparing and cooking food according to recipes, standards, and specifications. Working assigned stations during breakfast, lunch, dinner, banquet, and special-event service. Properly storing, labeling, and dating food products. Following proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures. Monitoring food quality and freshness throughout your shift. Helping with prep, receiving deliveries, inventory, and other kitchen duties as needed. Working efficiently while maintaining a calm and professional attitude during busy service. Jumping in to support your teammates wherever needed. Taking pride in every plate that leaves the kitchen. What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who knows their way around a professional kitchen and understands that being a great cook is about more than just cooking. You'll be a great fit if you: Have previous line-cook or professional kitchen experience. Are comfortable working multiple stations. Understand proper food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen procedures. Can follow recipes and portion specifications consistently. Have strong attention to detail. Work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Understand the importance of timing and communication during service. Take pride in cleanliness and organization. Are dependable and show up ready to work. Work well as part of a team. Are willing to help wherever needed. Have a positive attitude and professional approach. You'll work alongside a team that understands that great food is an important part of the guest experience—and that a strong kitchen depends on teamwork. We're looking for cooks who care about what they put on the plate and understand that every dish represents our hotel and our team. And yes, we believe a kitchen should work hard—but it should also be a place where people enjoy working together. Ready to Bring Your Skills to The GW? If you're an experienced cook who takes pride in your work, enjoys a busy kitchen, and wants to be part of a team that values great food and genuine hospitality, we'd love to meet you!
