at State of Vermont in Barre, Vermont, United States Job Description Overview The Vermont Psychiatric Care Hospital (VPCH) is seeking a Temporary Cook C to work at their Berlin, Vermont location. The kitchen prepares and cooks meals for patients in a 25-bed hospital setting. This position will participate in menu review and food production. The incumbent will assist with maintaining high standards of food quality, safety, sanitation, be comfortable operating slicers, knives, cleaning to include dishwashing, and lifting to 60 lbs. Other duties as assigned could be maintaining organization in walk in and dry storage and assisting with cleaning. A resume and cover letter regarding your interest and qualifications for this work is highly encouraged. Environmental Factors Work is performed in an institutional kitchen during an assigned shift. Incumbents must be able to operate cutters and slicers, handle knives, lift heavy weights (up to 60 lbs.) and work under conditions of high heat and humidity.
