Responsibilities:
Keep workstation clean, organized, and ready for use. Ensure food meets Amarillo Barbecue's standards for quality, quantity, freshness, and presentation. Accurately multitask while managing several orders at once. Prepare and monitor quality of food items (meat, fish, fowl, sauces, stocks, seasonings). Perform other assigned or management-requested duties. Maintain kitchen and prep areas to meet Department of Health cleanliness standards. Support special event meal planning and preparation (catering). Follow standardized recipes, portions, and procedures from the Executive Chef and any written guidelines. Use scratch and batch cooking techniques when possible. Help Lead Cooks track products to prevent loss.
Requirements:
Must be enthusiastic and punctual to meet scheduling commitments. The ability to communicate in an efficient and friendly manner. Must thrive in a team environment and support others to meet common goals. Completing and excelling at any necessary certifications and safety training; (Washington State food handlers' certificate). Ability to read, write and speak English. Remaining calm under pressure while working with speed and accuracy. The physical ability to stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time. Restaurant and cooking experience is a plus but willing to train the ideal candidate. Point of Sale experience a plus. Maintain a neat, professional appearance. Pay:
$17.50 - $25.00 per hour
