Job Description

SSP is seeking a Cook 2 to support our telecommunications teams by preparing high-quality, consistent meals for staff working on wireless and public-safety communication projects. In this role, you'll handle daily food prep, cooking, and packaging for on-site and field deployment, following standardized recipes and strict food safety standards. You'll maintain a clean, organized kitchen, manage inventory rotation, and ensure meals are ready on time for project crews. Working in SSP's safety-first, team-oriented culture, you'll contribute to mission-critical operations in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Prepare and cook menu items for SSP staff and field teams according to standardized recipes and safety guidelines Support daily kitchen operations including prep, cooking, portioning, and packaging of meals for on-site and field deployment Maintain high standards of food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness in all kitchen and storage areas Follow production schedules and prioritize orders to meet delivery and service timelines for project crews Monitor food quality, taste, and presentation; adjust seasonings and methods as needed Properly use and maintain kitchen equipment, reporting any safety or maintenance issues promptly Receive, store, and rotate food supplies to ensure freshness and minimize waste Assist with inventory counts and communicate replenishment needs to supervisors Collaborate with team members to coordinate large batch cooking for field deployments and special projects Adhere to SSP's safety-first, team-oriented culture and participate in ongoing training Required Skills Food preparation and cooking techniques Food safety and sanitation (HACCP/Serv Safe) Knife skills and kitchen equipment operation Batch cooking and portion control Inventory and stock rotation Time management in high-volume kitchen Menu and recipe adherence Basic baking and roasting techniques Temperature monitoring and logging Team collaboration and communication
